I was scrolling through some of my favorites on eBay the other day, and I always keep coming back to this beautifully carved folk art piece. I love everything about it. Its stance, the natural patina, the texture and detail throughout, and how thin yet still freestanding it is.
Growing up, I felt like, as an art student, you’re drawn to drawing and painting, the traditional go-to art form, especially for your local high school art classroom and budget. But lately, I’ve become obsessed with and continued to be blown away by these carved wooden pieces.
This beauty would look great on a mantle piece (looks over at my crowded mantle that my wife wants simplified) and could be yours.
