"Unsung Heroes" by Self-Taught Artist Noel Hatfield at Wake Up Iowa's Sideroom Gallery

A self-taught artist’s look at America’s most valuable activists and risk takers whose significant impact on society has often gone unnoticed.

Noel Hatfield is a seventy-three-year-old self-taught artist from Winterset, Iowa. Working in oil paint on stretched canvas or dibond aluminum, Noel paints in several styles, including Abstract, Expressionist, and Impasto, with a knife and brush. When he is not painting, he’s usually taking care of his adorable grandchildren.
